Last week, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to
attend the Independent Lingerie brand event at Cirque Du Soir. The event was a
celebration of the month of love and fashion with an exclusive catwalk show
featuring lingerie and swimwear from Playful Promises, Kiss me Deadly, Paolita and Lucile.

Cirque Du Soir offered a gorgeous and glamorous backdrop for
what really was a sizzling show and I was delighted to experience the added
bonus of burlesque dancer Aurora Galore introducing the show and heating
everyone up with what I can only describe as an awesome fire dance.
Although I am a major
fan of both Playful Promises and Kiss Me Deadly, I’m a bit of a newbie where
Paolita and Lucile are concerned so it was a real treat having another two
wonderful brands to add to my lingerie lust list. Paolita swimwear kicked off
the show to some lively, summery music (let me just add here that the DJ did a
great job) and the models emerged dressed in a kaleidoscope of colours and
patterns. Seriously, if you’re anticipating summer as much as I am and are
looking for that perfect bathing suit or bikini, check these guys out.

Lucile displayed some of their Queen of Spain collection (for
A/W 12) which combines luscious scarlet silks and black lace. The highlight of
their show was the stunning floor length night gown in red silk with black
floral detailing. Such an opulent example of loungerie will be
highly anticipated at Toots & Booty and we can’t wait to see more from
them.

Kiss Me Deadly really did themselves proud, of course, and flaunted
their retro femme fatale best including the gorgeous Fifi set. I was especially happy
to see this in the flesh as I was waiting for my own set to be delivered to me at
the time and it was just as lovely to look at as it is in the photos(fits like
a dream as well). It was also very exciting to get a little preview of Beth
(pictured), featuring a low-backed ivory basque and matching lace knickers.

And finally, Playful Promises wowed everyone particularly
with their Dominique set. The corset is characterised with striking Deco-esque
detailing around the waist and the Dominique bra features the “caged” effect
that we’ve seen from them before with the Etti set. I am obsessed with this
caging effect on bras at the moment; it creates a lovely, accentuated shape
around the breasts.
All in all it was a fabulous night and a fitting celebration
of the talent of four ultra glamorous brands that you should definitely be
aware of if you aren’t already.
