Lingerie at New York Fashion Week

So we have concluded the first week of Fashion Week, hosted by New York, and to mark and commemorate this, what better than to look through the lingerie-inspired pieces that NY had to offer? And guess what? Barely any florals! I'm incredibly excited about the things I've seen this Fashion Week myself and I can't wait to see what good old London has to offer. So check out these beautiful fashion-forward lingerie pieces (and okay I may have accidentally-on-purpose thrown in some swimwear but let's just pretend that's lingerie too?) that came from NYFW, and expect more next week...

Jason Wu

Leather bra and high waisted shorts - sleek and sexy,

Layering a black bra underneath a sheer top, teamed with a pencil skirt.

Boudoir-style sheer gloves and black, boned bodice.

Leather bra teamed with a flirty monochrome skirt

Gorgeous lace bodysuit

Peter Som

Silk bralet and knee-length skirt

70s chic with cute knicker-shorts under a jumper!

Rachel Comey

High waisted panties teamed with a tailored crop top

Simple bodysuit with black mesh back (not shown)

I love this tie and cut-out detail in a very subtle pattern.

Richard Chai

Sports-style bra with digitally printed pattern which nods to floral fashions of Spring!

Betsey Johnson

Betsy Johnson goes all out with a lace bra with a pencil skirt and loud jacket

Calvin Klein

Bullet-bra inspired top built-in to the dress

Catherine Malandrino

Pure white crotchet bra makes this outfit!

Monika Chiang

Shimmering gold structured bra paired with a leather skirt

Cushnie et Ochs

Bra-style top built into a pure white dress, with metal details.

Gorgeous cut-out design on this bra!

I love the strange shape of this set.

Daniella Kallmeyer

Sporty leather crop-top/bra

Derek Lam

Perforated leather(?) longline bralet with plaid skirt

DKNY
Wearing a monochrome bra underneath a chic "boyfriend" suit brings some sex appeal into the look

Edun

Rather Lara Croft inspired lingerie!

Herve Leger

This took my breath away! I love the cobalt blue and leather waist detail

Such stunning cut-out detail and intricacy, reminds me of the La Perla + JPG collaboration

Jeremy Scott

Ever mad Jeremy Scott puts leopard upon leopard here with a zip-up bra,

Little bit more sophisticated for Scott, with a baroque style gold bra and sheer skirt,

Katie Gallagher

Effortlessly cool set with high waisted panties and triangle bra.

Kelly Wearstler

I love this triangle bra with coral cups and glittery details.

Mara Hoffman

This pattern is divine, and the colours!

Marc Jacobs

Taupe bra with matching striped skirt

Nanette Lepore

Beautiful printed set

Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti

I love this silk bralet with the matching skirt.

A little blue patterned teddy!

Rebecca Taylor

Polka-dot cuteness under a pale blue leather jacket toughens it up

Ruffian

Another cute matching set!

The Blonds

The Blonds are always so forward with their designs, love this PVC/latex bodysuit

Victoria Beckham

Another example of sexing up a suit with a sexy bra underneath!

So we say goodbye to New York, and hello to London fashion week! I'm so excited but gutted that I can't be a part of any of it! So I'll be helplessly trawling through websites at every available moment to get my fashion week fix!

Can I just quickly take a moment to appreciate how pleased I am to see more diversity in race on the catwalks this fashion week? I haven't been able to use all the images here unfortunately because the clothes didn't quite fit into the theme but I was so happy for it! Although, still not enough variety in age and size - the only one I found that seemed to tick all the boxes was brand Imitation of Christ, who used a wide range of models, who were Black, White, Asian, a range of ages and most did not fit into the cusp of the catwalk model size we are (unfortunately) so used to. There was also kids used in this show which sounds a little strange and I'm still not sure how to feel about that one yet! So the search continues for a show with diversity, let's hope London does us proud!
