High Street Lingerie: Urban Outfitters

It's been a while since I've spoken about high street lingerie, and that's because I've been strapped for new brands to talk about! (Although might I add pop in to your local H&M that stocks lingerie because I saw some cute sets on there that aren't on the website!) Urban Outfitters is a pretty cool brand who have their own collections and they also stock Princess Tam Tam, Yes Master and Mimi Holliday (which you should definitely go to the UO website to check out because they are super cheap at the moment!). If you're into summery comfy lingerie then this is the place to go, these pieces are definitely not meant to be kept under wraps!

High Street Pick of the Week: Ann Summers

Up until about a year ago I honestly thought Ann Summers was just a place for kinky dress-up costumes and giant oversized vibrators disturbingly named "rabbits" (that would have been a funny Easter present when I think about it, as well as love eggs!). My college freshers party was a sea of 16 year old girls in Ann Summers costumes, and there was me dressed as Kate Bush in a leotard, tights and ivy in my hair whilst others wore pilot costumes (weirdest fantasy award) and nurse outfits. I never really ventured in there until me and a group of friends went to go buy another friends 18th birthday presents (how we take care of them!). I looked around at their range of lingerie which is usually hidden behind their scary mannequins with big gravity defying breasts and I thought "bloody hell this is great!". The next day I bumped into my friend in there who obviously had the same impression! The thing about Ann Summers is that it screams SEX. Something that some might be put off by initially, but in actual fact the lingerie is really great and there is a huge range of different styles and types. It's not all crotchless and stringy! They also cater for those up to cup size H, and range from sizes 8-24. They also have a huge sale on right now!

High Street Pick of the Week: Intimissimi

Intimissimi (bit of a mouthful) is an Italian clothing label which specialises in lingerie. It celebrates the iconic Italian style in delicate pastel hues this season and emulates the romanticism of Italy in the spring! Unfortunately there is only about 4 of these stores in London! But don't let this fool you, as this usually evokes the image of an extremely expensive boutique but no, Intimissimi is still very much affordable and like all the other previous high street shops, does not sacrifice quality for the amount you pay! (I apologise in advance for how tiny the pictures of the items are! I hate this when the website doesn't have decent photographs I can copy for blogging! But no worries because you can zoom in on the items on the item pages, which will, as always, be linked!)

High Street Pick of the Week: Marks & Spencer

I know, I know; the words "Marks and Sparks" prompt us to imagine our lovely grandma's big Bridget Jones-style knickers hanging out on the spinning washing line, next to grandpa's long john's. However, M&S are well known and praised for their quality in all areas, considered luxury by most other supermarket standards however is actually incredibly well-priced and affordable. They also advocate the latest buzzword, "British-Made", and have a range of fully British manufactured tights which includes very low-priced stockings and hosiery, and yes, this includes seamed tights! As someone who buys most of their hosiery at M&S I know for a fact that they are long-lasting and well fitting (no baggy knees here). Another brilliant thing about Marks and Sparks is their range of lingerie. They cater for all sizes, and even have specific collections for girls "first bras" (do you remember your first? Mine was from this range, incredible!), Bridal lingerie, maternity, DD+, and even post surgery bras, which are pretty but still give the support you need for your new boobs! They do pay very special attention to their lingerie and have great advisers in-store who can help with sizing you and finding a bra right for you. And for men who want to buy their wife/girlfriend/mistress/secretary/sister(?)/mother(?) a bra and are absolutely clueless, they even have a section for you! And not to worry international babes, they ship to 80 different countries.

High Street Pick of the Week: ASOS

Okay, so I know strictly speaking ASOS is not a "high street brand" in definition, but with most of us these days saving time and money online this easily comes in the top picks of online shops. Proving very popular with thousands of styles to choose from in very decent prices, and also stocking designer brands, high street brands and also it's own "Etsy" style marketplace, it's no wonder so many of us go there to shop! But what about the lingerie? Well it doesn't disappoint whatsoever. Not only do they stock hundreds of our favourite lingerie designers, such as Bordelle, Lascivious, Mimi Holliday and Made by Niki, they also have their own fantastic range of lingerie. Not to mention beautiful and affordable.
